Working at psd

A rewarding and enriching professional environment.

In addition to personal commission and bonus schemes, psd offers a comprehensive benefits package to permanent staff.

psd is an equal opportunities employer and does not discriminate against any candidate on the basis of race, gender, ethnicity, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation or nationality. We offer a working environment and culture that recognises, embraces, and values difference.

As a recruitment consultancy, our responsibility is always to attract and recruit the best candidates for our clients, encouraging and selecting candidates purely on the basis of merit.

psd recognises and rewards hard work, commitment and success. Everyone who works as part of our company is given responsibility and encouraged to take ownership of what they do, with the support they need to get where they want to be. Targets and expectations are clearly defined – once achieved, they are celebrated and those responsible are rewarded.

Corporate Social Responsibility can mean different things to different people and organisations. At psd we endeavour to make the most positive contribution possible to our environment and the community.

Environment

Our planet’s resources are finite. psd is acutely aware of its responsibilities to minimise the company’s impact on the environment. We review our operational practices continually, striving to identify improvements. We are committed to the following ecological principles:

  • Encouraging maximum re-use and recycling of products & materials
  • Ensuring efficient use of materials and energy
  • Purchasing the most sustainable materials and products available

psd is working towards attaining ISO 14001 accreditation for environmental
management.

Across psd group, staff are actively involved in supporting a range of charitable organisations and activities. In addition, all employees receive one day of paid leave each year to carry out volunteering work in any of the company’s chosen charities, as nominated by staff.

psd was first awarded the Payroll Giving Platinum Award by the Charities Aid Foundation in 2014 – and was awarded its second Platinum Award in June 2015. These awards were made in recognition of support for three charities chosen by staff: Cash For Kids (Manchester), Chestnut Tree House (Haywards Heath) and Kids Company (London) between 2006 and 2015.

To be awarded the second Platinum Award, we needed to achieve an overall increase in the value of donations or number of donors on previous years and for more than 20% of employees to contribute to the payroll giving scheme (in the event, 30% of psd employees chose to participate). psd matched all staff donations and covered administration charges for the scheme.

We want psd to be an outstanding place to work.

Whether you’re a consultant, a manager or a member of our support staff, psd should be rewarding, challenging and enjoyable. Recognising the achievements of our people is a vital part of our culture.

We work hard, but have a lot of fun, too, and believe that this balance is vital to the success and happiness of the organisation. Incentive schemes such as our team awards ensure that staff have the opportunity to relax and socialise together.

Regular reviews and appraisals, and a culture of giving and receiving feedback openly creates a challenging and inclusive environment in which everybody is committed to ongoing learning.

Management development

For the past decade, psd has been highly successful in developing management teams to lead and direct the Group. Most of our senior managers have progressed through the ranks business and benefited from the company’s in-house coaching and training programmes.

We actively encourage staff to take up assignments in other group offices either in the UK or overseas, and to benefit from the opportunity to travel and develop their careers at the same time. Many staff have taken advantage of our international network, moving into different roles around the world to develop their careers with us.
