psd Manchester – Cash for Kids charity

21/03/2018By Rob Dermott
Well done to our psd Manchester team for an outstanding effort raising almost £5,000, including £350 worth of Easter Eggs and Christmas presents, for one of our nominated charities, Cash for Kids. The team has raised money though sponsored events, raffles and bake offs.

We are particularly proud that over 75% of psd Manchester staff participate in payroll giving, and that psd has twice been awarded the Payroll Giving Platinum Award by the Charities Aid Foundation. psd match what the staff donate, plus offer each member of staff one day extra of paid leave per year to volunteer in one of our chosen charities.

The money we have donated will be used to fund local projects and organisations that help disadvantaged and disabled children in Greater Manchester, dealing with issues such as poverty, abuse, neglect and short life expectancy.

psd helped Cash for Kids fund social trips for a youth group run by, and for, deaf children. The group meets once a month on a Saturday at the Genie Family Centre where they have group discussions, play games and hang out
with other young deaf people to make friends and help with feelings of isolation.

With our support, Cash for Kids funded the purchase of adapted bikes and trikes for children with cognitive and developmental disabilities, many who have been, until now, unable to ride a bike or told they’ll never be able to.

Together we also funded sports equipment for children at the Royal Oak Community Centre, an independent community centre in an area of high unemployment and poverty.

Cash for Kids support many other groups doing wonderful things for disadvantaged children. Here at psd we are proud to play a part in this, and we look forward to supporting Cash for Kids over the next 12 months.
