Operational Risk Forum

Director of psd’s Banking & Financial Services practice, Gail Danvers, hosted a forum to explore risk management in smaller banking firms.

Dr Ariane Chapelle, Director of Chapelle Consulting, was the key note speaker, giving a thought-provoking presentation.

The event was held at psd‘s head office in London, and not only gave guests the opportunity to network, but to talk directly to Ariane and ask her questions around the subject.

Ariane’s presentation, titled “Small is Beautiful”, focused on simplifying the key areas of operational risk within small firms. Its aim was to empower such firms with the tools to be effective at managing their operational risk, without over-spending on developing vast internal controls or using avoidable costly systems.

This sparked a lively discussion around a number of subjects including: managing the operational risk in front of you versus guessing what is around the corner, the challenge of profit versus prudence and the importance of RCSA’s and ownership of operational risk.
