Background:

Our client is a privately owned group of companies focused on leisure, residential and commercial real estate across the UK. There are assets in this market leading property platform valued at over £2bn and this is an end-to-end business with capabilities spanning acquisition, design, planning, development, and asset management. As the business continues to enjoy significant growth, more resources are required to ensure our back-office processes and systems are best in class to support the delivery of a quality product and service. Hence the need to appoint a Finance Manager to work both with the central finance team and the operational real estate team.

Main Responsibilities:

You will be a key point of contact in the finance team, with crucial responsibilities of providing timely monthly management accounts and managing the credit control/account’s payable function. There will be a particular focus on control to ensure the business is operating in an efficient and compliant manner. You will be responsible for:

• Producing monthly management accounts for the various companies within the real estate part of the business.
• Producing and maintaining the monthly VAT and CIS returns where applicable.
• Liaison with the development managers with regards to the monthly updating of the development appraisals/cash flows that flow into the Group Cash Flow.
• Assisting development managers with their cost plans.
• Liaison with the investment team to incorporate the latest sales and financing assumptions into the appraisals/cash flows.
• Preparation of the monthly utilisation requests for the PBSA sites.
• To be the main contact for the annual statutory audit to ensure this process runs as smoothly as possible.
• To work closely with the Finance Director to ensure the finance team works in a collaborative fashion both within the department and across the rest of the business.
• To work closely with other finance professionals to manage the accounts payable function to ensure the approval process is being adhered to, suppliers are being paid in a timely fashion and the creditors ledger is up to date.
• Asset management responsibilities including monthly meetings on site at some of our developments where applicable.
• Proactively seeking efficiencies to streamline processes & systems.
• To build and maintain good relationships with all the departments across the business such as planning and development.
• To support ad-hoc projects/tasks as and when required by the Operational Finance Director.

Required Experience:

• This role would suit a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a keen interest in real estate (and also a QBE candidate.)
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of SAGE Line 50/Line 200.
