About the Client:

We are working with an established Housebuilder in the Yorkshire region as they look to bring a new Land Manager into the business.

Reporting to the Land Director, you will support in the delivery of the regional business plan and land acquisition strategy for the region. Work with them to pro-actively source, manage and progress strategic, medium to long term land and partnership opportunities for the regional Business to facilitate delivery of the regional growth plans.

In the role you will be responsible for:

• Support head of land with long term land strategy including identifying key areas of growth over determined timescales and compile business case for targeting such areas.
• Identify, assess, pursue and progress potential strategic land and partnership opportunities suitable for the business
• Lead and supervise on bid submissions for identified opportunities
• Support wider land team with planning knowledge and prepare summary reports for schemes illustrating planning historic and key obligations
• Take ownership of legal agreement negotiations on projects.
• Negotiate land values with owners
• Develop relationships with partner organisations to advance scheme progress and explore additional opportunities.
• Preparation and production of regular updates and reports as required
• Support land and technical teams with planning applications including working with & managing planning consultant, reviewing local planning policies, draft planning permissions and planning agreements.
• Support with regular updates regarding existing land holdings and proposed future land purchases.
• Create and manage an ambitious Sales Management team who collectively lead Sales Executives to focus on driving appointments, reservations, and legal completions together with 5-star customer satisfaction across all developments working as a collaborative and highly motivated team.

Ideally you will have the following background:

• Proven industry experience in planning and land acquisition
• Strong understanding of the planning process, the NPPF and planning legislation
• Financial and commercial acumen
• Ability to influence senior decision makers
• Experience in developing strategies
• Able to manage effectively across functional teams
• Able to multi-task, prioritise and have good time management skills
• Team focused
