Our client is a London based charity focusing on a worldwide legal humanitarian remit.  They are financially well managed and have a strong financial base receiving funding from a wide variety of consistent sources.

They are looking for an experienced Finance Manager, with a keen interest in taking a senior role within this dynamic organisation. The role will be for 3 or 4 days per week and will suit an individual who either wants to work part-time or who has other commitments that they wish to fulfil during the working week.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for all the financial record keeping, budgeting and reporting and will assist with related office infrastructure activity.

The Main Responsibilities are:

• Prepare annual accounts for audit and liaise with auditors around year-end.
• File annual trustees’ reports and financial statements with Companies House.
• File annual returns, trustees’ reports, and financial statements with the Charity Commission.
• Manage the monthly payroll and pensions auto-enrolment arrangements.
• Maintain the administrative aspects of bank accounts
• Work with the Chief Executive and Treasurer to prepare the budget and continuously update it with latest estimates.
• Prepare bi-monthly finance reports, management accounts, cash flow forecasts
• Report to and liaise with HMRC on PAYE and Gift Aid.
• Manage the financial budgeting and reporting aspect of a wide range of grants.
• Control grant expenditure, and report periodically to donors.

The Successful Candidate will be:

• ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified (depending on experience).
• Hands-on experience of managing an accounting function in a similar type and size of organisation;
• Demonstrated experience of accounting in the charity sector
• Experience with financial reporting to a Board of Trustees or similar governance body.
• Substantial experience of relevant accounting software packages (QuickBooks) and Excel spreadsheets
