PSD Group is exclusively partnering with a house builder recognised for quality and craftsmanship based in the Northwest with a search for their new Finance Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to be “number 1” in finance and support the business with their ambitious long-term plans for growth, including in environmentally conscious ways.

This very broad role will involve working very closely with an engaging MD and other senior stakeholders across the business. The prime focus will be on delivering reliable and timely financial management information to support decision making in the business, maximise improvements, and ensure profitable growth. 

• Provide business partner support to the MD and the Board and maintain the business KPIs.

• Maintain and keep building a good working relationship with the incumbent and/or new banking and funding providers.

• Work collaboratively with the Sales and Commercial teams to highlight risks and opportunities across the business in terms of process, financial and reputational impact.

• Key involvement in the land and development appraisals process.

• Plan for and prepare an annual budget and cash flow based on the land and development appraisals.

• Be the main point of contact within the finance team, with crucial responsibilities for providing timely and reliable management information.

• Providing a reliable rolling weekly cash flow forecast.

• Review P&L and provide clear variance reports and risk analysis supported by clear commentary and present it to the Board and Shareholders.

• Implement and drive robust, risk balanced, controls to ensure the business is operating in an efficient and compliant manner.

• Management of the bank mandates and all banking administration. 

• Lead and manage the purchase ledger, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

• Responsible for co-ordinating statutory returns including VAT, CIS, CITB, confirmation statements.

• Manage the year end process with external accountants and auditors through to sign off.

You are likely to be a qualified accountant with an ACA, CIMA or ACCA background and you must have worked previously within the housebuilding sector. You will need to represent a solid level of accounting background, strong controls experience and be well used to a hands-on working environment.  Experience of working with accountancy software, and SAGE 50 in particular, is essential.

The role will be based in the office.

Salary: up to £65k + bonus + other benefits
