We have a current opportunity for a Finance Director on a permanent basis. The position will be based in the south east. For further information about this position please apply.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a highly regarded housebuilder that is looking to recruit a Finance Director to oversee their significant business. The position will be varied and will support the Group Finance Director and operational disciplines, mitigating risks and providing sound financial advice across all aspects of the business. In addition, you will be involved in developing banking relationships, support on raising new finance and manage site funding requests.

Key responsibilities for the new Appointee will include: 

General

• Present financial updates and advice to the Board in line with organisational aims and objectives
• Identify any business risks that may affect the Group, providing recommendations to resolve and mitigate
• Organise the annual external audit effectively liaising with external auditors throughout
• Lead responsibility on insurance renewals for the group
• Effective recruitment, selection, performance management and development of all direct reports

Forecasting/ Modelling

• Review actual and projected performance against site budget
• Oversee and monitor the Group cashflow and profit forecasts

Financial Reporting

• Oversee the production of the annual budget including regular monthly reviews and forecasting
• Ensure the timely preparation and submission of all financial reporting duties including but not limited to:

○ Board Reports

○ Bank MI Packs

○ Group Consolidation

○ Annual Budget

○ Annual Statutory Accounts

Regulatory Obligations

• Ensure all finance operations are accurately and efficiently carried out in accordance with relevant financial reporting and accounting standards.
• Lead the implementation of new legislation, accounting standards and compliance laws.
• Ensure Tax and any other regulatory obligations are adhered to.

Bank/ Funding

• Support the Group FD with banking and facility renewals and negotiation with existing and new lenders
• Support the Group FD to adapt and manage banking facility and financial commitments through any business or economic changes
• Develop and maintain banking and funding relationship through regular communication
• Manage site funding requests under banking facility
• Ensure ongoing compliance with banking facility including banking conditions and reporting requirements
• Provide regular updates to banking stakeholders including monthly reporting on business and site performance i.e (launch, reservation, sold and plot handover figures)

The Successful Candidate will be: 

• Chartered Accountant i.e ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent
• Residential Development / Construction background preferable
• Previous experience within a similar role at Board level
• Proven experience of securing funding or managing banking relationships (Desirable)
• Heavy involvement and understanding of cash flow/ management accounting principles
• Extensive people management experience
• Strong relationship management skills
• Commercial and business acumen
• Driven and tenacious nature
