About the Role:
Reporting to the Development Director, the Development Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all allocated developments are processed and controlled with appropriate detail and due diligence instilled, to add or protect value at all points of the development to meet financial performance criteria, project budgets and programme requirements.
As Development Manager within this established team, you will support the Development Director and Senior members of the team to manage and ensure overall financial viability of developments is maintained, liaising with the Finance department in the structuring of business plans and forecasts. You will be required to work alongside the Development team to ensure that all legal requirements are met, planning conditions are discharged (directly, or via the wider Technical Team) and will assist the Land / New Business department during the pre-development programme and in certain instances, lead on land acquisition or renegotiation of terms on existing projects.
Communication and organisational skills are imperative, with the Development Manager responsible for the coordination of skills and resources within each function within not only the internal teams, but also the managing of external consultants, to ensure schedules and key deadlines are met.
What we’re looking for:
You will be well-versed in the residential development sector and have experience in managing non-standard residential developments through the critical elements of the development cycle and be able to lead and support in the pre-construction process. The successful candidate will have strong commercial acumen, supported by financial modelling and budget control. Proven negotiation experience along with strong organisational skills are a must, with the ability to prioritise workload and delegate where appropriate in order to achieve business goals and objectives.
The ideal candidate would be a collaborative, team player with exceptional communication skills and the ability to effectively and efficiently work alongside and coordinate multiple stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
