We have a current opportunity for a Financial Controller (Northwest) on a permanent basis. For further information about this position please apply.

Our client is a leading construction and development for rent business operating across UK, currently seeking an experienced Financial Controller with housebuilding experience to undertake all aspects of financial management and reporting for the company, ensuring all reporting is compliant with accounting standards and relevant legislation. Other responsibilities will also include the contribution to the financial strategy of the business, developing the internal control policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities for the new Appointee will include:

• Update of cashflow on a monthly basis, and on an ongoing basis as new sites are won, and bi-monthly site valuations are prepared, with the assistance of the Divisional Team.
• Audit check bi-monthly valuations prior to uploading to cashflow.
• Maintaining and updating the cashflow system.
• Producing land packs for the bank, for all new land purchases.
• Managing the completion process of new land purchases in collaboration with the Land Teams and Head Office Team.
• Reviewing and approving plot and part exchange contracts, for exchange and plot completion statements.
• Managing and checking divisional profit take schedule.
• Managing and overseeing weekly / monthly reporting, including but not limited to Sales, Construction Production, Board Finance Packs and Cashflow Packs.
• The setting up of new management companies for new sites and the annual Companies House returns and handovers to new Directors.
• Assist Head office with managing the annual insurance renewal process and oversee any claims during the year with the Health and Safety Department.
• Compile and complete monthly management accounts on a strict timely basis each month. 
• Assist Head Office managing the year end statutory accounts process.
• Oversee and manage Divisional Company Car Schemes.
• Overseeing Divisional IT infrastructure with outsourced IT company.
• Monitor and manage the repayment of the remaining Divisional outstanding shared equity loans that the company has in place.
• Overall responsibility for the Accounts Department including but not limited to; purchase ledger, sub-contract ledger, labour only ledger, payroll, weekly paid, plot council tax and plot service accounts.
• Process banking payments on a regular basis.
• Manage compliance returns and requirements, including but not limited to; all HMRC requirements, Companies House, CITB, Slavery and Payment Dates Returns.

The Successful Candidate will be/ have:

• ACCA or CIMA qualification
• Highly Experienced Accountant with experience of managing a finance team and working closely with company directors • Industry-fit – needs to be in a House Builder
• Literacy and numerical skills
• Demonstrates sound decision-making skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Proficient Microsoft Excel user
• Able to adopt effective influencing style.
• Delivers on time and to target
• Excellent communicator and highly motivated
• Motivated leader and able to develop self

Salary: up to £70,000 – £80,000 + bonus and benefits
