Career Progression: Sebastian Brandtner – Principal Consultant
“With the help of a good on-boarding process and an experienced mentor, I was able to quickly familiarize myself with the Professional Services market and ultimately experience success very early on”.
Why did you join psd?
For me, psd offers two key things; an extensive 360 degree model which gives you the opportunity to learn the entire cycle of recruiting; and experienced executive search consultants who are supportive and willing to share their knowledge. This, and the great team that I got to know during the on-boarding process, ultimately convinced me this was the right move.
Tell us about your psd career so far.
I joined psd in early 2018 to help build our Professional Services Practice within the GSA region. With the help of a good on-boarding process and an experienced mentor, I was able to quickly familiarize myself with the market and ultimately experience success very early on.
What are your career aspirations with psd?
We have an agile and efficient Professional Services team, and I want to continue to establish ourselves in that market and help to shape the developments there. I am based in our Frankfurt office and have just completed a sabbatical in London which I really enjoyed. The next step for me is to take part in the international management development program which will also be an exciting time.
What is most rewarding about your job?
I really enjoy having lively discussions with candidates and clients on current trends in the market and other hot topics. Also, it’s a great feeling when you find the perfect fit for a client, and make a real difference to someone’s career. Of course, hitting targets is very rewarding both financially and with the recognition you receive from the company with awards and team events.
Do you have any advice to anybody thinking about joining psd?
psd’s culture is great for people who have a hands-on mentality. The 360 degree approach allows you to get involved in all areas of a project – from acquisition, identification and contract negotiations. If you want to develop an existing practice, or even build a new one, psd will give you the opportunity. It’s a great company to work for if you value entrepreneurial freedom.
