psd group is exclusively partnering with a pioneering organisation based in Southeast England who is looking for a new Head of Finance/ Finance Director to join their forward-thinking team and be a strong ‘number 1’ in finance and in the future a member of an Exec Board. This very broad role will require a more technically focussed ACA/ACCA individual, ideally with a tax qualification within property/construction background or having worked within the public sector. This strategic role will involve working and engaging with the MD and other senior stakeholders across the business.

The prime focus will be focusing managing a strong finance function and delivering results in an innovative and enthusiastic way whilst being an advocate of the values and integrity of the organisation.

The role will include:

• Providing an effective financial management and ongoing development of financial strategy and controls.
• Supporting in defining and delivering the organisation priorities, policies, and plans including implementation and monitoring of financial plans and initiatives while being a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
• Leading strategic projects and initiatives to achieve challenging targets
• Demonstrating effective financial control, accounting, forecasting and commercial / finance business partnering to achieve business objectives and social return on investment. You will be accountable for all areas of finance including:
• Leading month end close
• Management accounting
• Financial and statutory accounting including external audit sign off
• Preparation of P&L and cashflow forecasts
• Producing of accurate financial reporting for the business including attendance at Board meetings
• Treasury management
• PAYE/CIS/RCT return and ensure compliance with accounting regulations
• Leading small finance team and challenging operational decisions
• Playing an integral part and demonstrating a flexible approach to strategic leadership, to ensure that the strategic and operational needs of the organisation are met
• Establishing and nurturing partnerships with local government to manage process on new deal closings for fund raising
• Able to work with a high degree of accuracy and under pressure
• Knowledge of using COINS would be a bonus

Salary: £95,000 – £110,000 pro rota + bonus. The role will initially be on part time basis with the opportunity to progress to full time.

You will be a fully qualified accountant from either an ACA, ACCA, CIMA background and have worked within property, construction, or housing sector. You will represent a strong technical level of accounting background, provide crucial financial support in complex tasks, including auditing, taxation and funding expertise with local authorities.This role would suit a 1st time Financial Controller/Head of Finance stepping up in their career and broadening their skillset and experience
