We have a current opportunity for a Operations Director – Student Accommodation on a permanent basis. For further information about this position please apply.

Our client is a family-owned residential focused real estate business.  As part of their diversification, they want to appoint an Operations Director to oversee the day-to-day delivery and operational activity of their operational real estate platform, with a primary focus on the student accommodation sector.

The Operations Director’s Main Responsibilities will therefore be:

• Making recommendations as to the most appropriate operational platform for the business.
• Being responsible for the recruitment of key hires into the site based operational teams across the UK.
• Being responsible for all day-to-day operational health & safety and statutory compliance on all assets.
• Ensuring all assets under management within the platform are managed in line with the asset’s strategic business plan.
• Keeping up to date with new developments across the fields of operational management, student accommodation trends as well as health & safety
• Providing input at the underwriting stages of each development from an operational cost perspective
• Having responsibility for the preparation of and ongoing monitoring of all operational budgets.
• Being the lead on all operational matters on new acquisitions.
• Being the operational lead on all operational ESG matters

The Successful Candidate will have:

• At least ten years’ experience undertaking a similar Operations Director role working in a customer facing organisation in one or more of the following sectors: PRS/build-to-rent later living, student accommodation/PBSA.
• A strong customer service background.
• The ability to work successfully as part of a small, close-knit team but also be able to work independently.
• A strong operational skillset being fully adept in current health and safety / statutory compliance / operational risk management and the ability to deliver an exceptional level of customer service.
• An individual with the skillset and ability to lead and manage a team, some of whom may be based remotely across the UK.
• Commercial ability to negotiate contract terms and contract principles with third party advisors, contractors, and consultants.
• Financially astute with a strong attention to detail.
