At PSD, we recently conducted a survey of Chair, CEO,
Non-Executive Director and Finance Director clients to assess their views on
whether the UK will vote to remain in the EU or leave.
sent the survey to thousands of people and we received a high response. The
result was that 69% of responders support the Remain vote whilst 31% believe
that the UK would be better leaving the EU. The survey, unlike the current
polls, suggested an overwhelming victory for the Remain campaign.
PSD's client base covers many different sectors, and we made a particular point
of reaching to our clients across all major sectors, there was a notably strong
response from the Property sector. We decided to interview two responders, from
this sector, one voting to stay in the EU and one voting to leave. They both
wished to remain anonymous but nonetheless gave us some fascinating insights
into their thinking.
I very much hope that you enjoy this edition and
look forward to hearing your views and comments.

With much of the
debate in the EU referendum campaign revolving around economics, PSD has been
considering what a Brexit would mean for our clients’ businesses. Whilst no one
can fully predict the impact of leaving the EU, the effects on business,
employment and wage inflation are well worth considering.
