PSD’s Board Practice recently hosted their second forum, which concentrated on how women can successfully forge a career as a non-executive board member.

Exploring the various pathways for women to non-executive roles has been a focus for PSD's Board Practice in recent years. Searching for, and taking on, a non-executive role can be a continuous challenge such as: planning ahead to develop key skills needed to take on such a role, being clear on how your current skills will add to a board, selecting a role which you can be sure will add value to your long-term plans and understanding the dynamics of a new role. However, despite these challenges, a non-executive role can be very rewarding.

Women On Boards 1

We were delighted to have Helen Jones and Cate Poulson as the two speakers for the event.

Helen Jones 200px wide Cate Poulson 200px WideAs a representative of BGF Cate shared BGF's perspective on the hiring of Non-Executives and Chairman for their 150+ Investments whilst Helen, looked at the building blocks required in building up a career ready for a Non-Executive roles.

A lively Q and A session then followed, sparking debate surrounding gender balance and attitudes, to name a few.

It was a pleasure to have such an interesting group of women in attendance at our London head offices networking and asking thought-provoking questions.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you wish to discuss non-executive roles with a member of the PSD Board Practice team.
