PSD were well represented at the Master Innholders conference on 15th
and 16th of January, 2017. The event was held at the Hilton Bankside, and PSD,
sponsors of the Master Innholders through St Julian’s Scholars, were thrilled
to support the event.
What a headache it must have been for the committee to
put together a conference programme to inspire the sell-out audience of 450 of
the UK's top hoteliers, but indeed 2 sessions really stood out …
The Master
Innholders must be congratulated for their ongoing commitment to the
development of young people within the industry. Their Aspiring Leaders Diploma
programme and the Master Innholders Scholarship programmes are crucial in
providing structured learning and unique experiences for successful young
individuals.
We heard from Charlotte O'Connell, General Manager at Moxy
Hotels; Lucy Gregory, Deputy General Manager at The Arch; and Tom Waldron-Lynch,
General Manager at De Vere Orchard Hotel and East Midlands Conference Centre.
They described the enormous value this learning and investment provided them.
Applications for the 2017
Diploma and Scholarships are currently being sought and are open to
anyone.
For inspiration, Geoff
Ramm thrilled the audience with his presentation on Celebrity Service.
Challenging all the luxury hoteliers in the room, Geoff asked if any aspect of
the service they provide would change or improve if a celebrity walked in. Geoff
made it all sound very simple but it left every top hotelier in the room with a
brilliant idea to take home. If you weren't there, we urge you to listen to the
Celebrity
Service presentation. Alternatively get his book Celebrity
Service:'Discover The Gap In Your Service You Never Knew Existed' - a very
interesting read!
It is always a pleasure to
attend the events held by The Master Innholders and we very much look forward to
attending the next conference.
